Temples of Morjim
1. Morjai Temple
Shri Morjai Temple is situated amidst natural surrounding and is dedicated to goddess shri Morjai, who is one of the seven sisters who had came and resided in different parts of Goa. One of the main festival celebrated here is 'Kalas Utsav' and is celebrated once in every three, five and seven years.
2. Bhumika Temple
This temple is dedicated to goddess shri Bhumika. This temple was built by some of the families who had came and resided in morjim village years ago
3. Satpurush Temple
This temple is dedicated to god Satpurush. It is said that he was the first man of Morjim village and this temple has been built where he used to sit
4. Hanuman Temple
This temple is the only hanuman temple in morjim village. Every saturday devotees go and offer oil in the temple.
5. Shri Kulkar Sateri
This temple is dedicated to lord Kulkar amd goddess Shri Sateri.
6. Deevanji Temple
This temple is dedicated to lord Deevanji. The devotees visit this temple to seek fulfillment of salvation, wealth, relief from diseases and gain knowledge.
7. Our Lady Of Miracles Church
It is also called Nossa Senhora dos Milagres Igrejaem in Portuguese. Originally a chapel, this church was built in 1857.
8. Sant Khuris Mannar
It is a chapel dedicated to the Holy Cross, endearingly known among the locals as Sant Khuris Mannar chapel. The feast of this chapel attracts a large number of devotees.

ReplyDeleteWow..... It's something creative blog and depicts beauty of Morjim. Though it misses beach descriptions viz. Vitthaldas wada beach, Gawde wada beach and Tem wada beach. More to add is recently added Morning khind
